Alaska

Featured image for “Alaska”

The wifey and I recently had the great priveledge of taking a vacation to the last frontier–Alaska. Three of my roomies from college are tour guides during the summer months in AK and were kind enough to let us stay with them. Luckily they could take time off from work and be our personal guides for about a week. It was amazing!

We toured the countryside exploring parts between Anchorage, Seward and Valdez catching glimpses of wildlife at all points in between. But you know, what I didn’t realize was just how BIG Alaska is. I mean, it’s freaking giant. Alaska is more than 1/5 the size of the contiguous 48 states and at 663,267 square miles, it is more than twice the size of Texas. From the western most point to the eastern most, Alaska could easily span the US from east coast to west coast. Yeah, that’s big. Anywho, I’ll never forget the beauty and vastness of the scenery nor the quality time spent with friends I love dearly. Here are some snapshots from our adventures:

  1. Looking at your pictures brought back so many wonderful memories of our visit to Alaska 3 yrs ago when we were given the personal tour by Dustin! I am so thankful you and Kim (aka, the wifey) got to be there as well! Now, on to the next BIG adventure…..Thanksgiving in Erie, PA. Yippee!! Love ya!

P.S. YOU are an amazing photographer!!

  2. Awesome pics Jared! They turned out so perfect. I especially love the “Twilight, Vampires in the Tundra” picture of Dustin and me. We miss you guys; wish you were still here. Your week of Alaskan adventuring went by too fast!

  3. Well done my friend. Excellent photographic skillz. Very nice colors and compositions in each of these. Might I schedule some time to go through some of the rest that did not make this list?
